Day 21 - SEATEACHER

Families in Songkhla, Thailand

February 4 (Saturday)

  • Lazy Day
  • Souvenir Shopping with Mrs. Tatik
  • Dinner with Families in Songkhla
  • Slumber party in Parichat dorm

Waking up not too morning because today is a holiday. But we had an appointment with Mrs. Tatik to go to looking for souvenirs, but later in the afternoon at 4.00 pm after she finished teaching at SKRU. So, since waking up, we are nothing, just spend time on the mattress and pillows. Utilize the time to sleep and rest to take as many bedtime last week who used to draw up a lesson plan and practical exercises. ha ha ha (please don't emulate)

After nearly a day of lazy, Mrs Tatik arrived atParichat dorm to pick us up. The first place that we visited was the upscale souvenir shop, so many souvenirs are sold there, but certainly with a hefty price tag is expensive. So only Anna and Laras are shopping, they bought some refrigerator magnet with price 35 bath per unit, and with a bit of haggling they finally could be 10 refrigerator magnets with the price of 300 Bath.

After that we went into the market selling different souvenirs typical of Thailand. There are key chains, vases, ornaments, wall hangings, clothing and food. The price offered is not too expensive. For a typical Thailand t-shirt sells for 100 to 200 Bath based on the materials used.

After nearly an hour of shopping, we still should to go to the market at Samila Beach that we visit the other day. In the market of Samila Beach, some stuff there that is priced the same as the prices in the market and some are cheaper. For example, for a refrigerator magnet here just 25 Bath per unit, but maybe the quality is a bit at the bottom. And I spend about 1.300 Bath to shop a wide variety of goods. This is my grocery goods in the market of Samila Beach.

The sky was getting dark, the souvenirs already obtained it's time to go home. But it turns out Mrs. Tatik invite us to dinner in a tavern. And not long after we got, it turns out that family groups, Mr. Rashid, Mrs. Anna, Mr. Darto (Mrs. Tatik's husband), Nevy and Danar also came to join and have dinner together. I feel very lucky to meet them at Songkhla. They are a new family for me. And hopefully someday one day I can repay all their kindness.

During the dinner, as usually we were chatting and laughing together. Very fun, and definitely will be the moment that will be sorely missed in the future. After dinner, they drove us back to the dorm. And, we managed to persuade both pairs of parents to let their daughters (Nevy and Danar) to stay with us at the Parichat dormitory tonight. ha ha ha
Enjoy the slumber party, girls!
