Wat Phranom Laem Pho

January 29 (Sunday)

  • Invitation to lunch at Mr. Rashid's home
  • Sleeping Buddha (Wat Phranom Laem Pho)
  • The Old Rice Mill in Old City of Songkhla
In the morning, we spent the time to wash clothes. At 11.00 am Mr. Rashid ang Mrs. Tatik picked us up to dorm. Arrived at Mr. Rashid's home, Mrs. Rashid has been serving some of the typical Indonesian cakes, like egg rolls and murtabak. After Dhuhr Prayer, we had lunch together, Sundanese food, Indonesia. Mrs. Rashid seems to love to Cook, it's a delicious cuisine but I was too full to eat the cake so I can't eat too much rice.

Again, we are talking about many topics while at Mr. Rashid's home. I conversed with Danar and Nevi. They are smart. Still very young but they have a pretty extensive insight. Talk to them about a lot of things, made me feel like finding a new sister here. Yes, they have I think is like my younger sister. We are very suitable in many different areas. ha ha ha

At 4.00 pm, we going to Wat Phranon Laem Pho. Wat Phranon Laem Pho is something extra-ordinary as it depicts a sleeping buddha. It’s my very first time to see a big reclining or sleeping buddha in my life.
Wat Phranon Laem Pho, Songkhla-Thailand
In Buddhism it depicts Gautama Buddha attaining final nirvana or “perfect stillness”. It also symbolizes liberation, eternal bliss, rebirth and calm joy.  More or less the length in size is about 20 meters and 5 meters tall (just my approximation). We are both overwhelm just looking on this behemoth masterpiece in Ko Yo Mueang Songkhla. We’re wondering how they able to preserve such beauty as this big monument is exposed to different elements of nature.
Fixed drifting though the Sun very scorching, ha ha ha
Aside from the reclining,  a sitting and standing buddhas were also present in this temple. There comes in different form and sizes. A Golden Stupas and Shrines are also near these Buddhist statues. We saw locals citing some prayers on these colorful shrines.

Lets follow me to go to Indonesia, ha ha ha

On the other side of the road, there are a few paintings on the wall, and the wall with the painting were kept and cared for properly, they even give out light which can embellish these images as background images.
