Day 2 - SEATEACHER

January 16 (Monday)

  • Welcome Ceremony from International Office of SKRU (SKRU ASEAN STUDIES International Relation)
We start the day at 8.00 am to have breakfast in the campus canteen with all student teacher exchange, Nadia, Dami Ya, Ajarn Narong and his cute daughter Yaya. There are four traders have halal food in the canteen, and the price is quite cheap. Only 20 bath for a menu and 25 bath for two menu without the drinking water.

 After that, at 10.00 am we go to hall campus for Teachers Day Ceremony. There many students and lecturers wearing white and black colors only. All event runs wisdom. In this event also inserted some special events like the awards for outstanding students, the permission certificate to teach in schools for students who attend the program and the most interesting is the event giving red roses while paying respect, or in Indonesia we said "sungkem" (ie sitting in front of the teacher while praising sorry and thanks for his/her services to us). The event is over after the introduction of our self sixes in front of all the students and lecturers as well as the invitation is there. And of course we also met with the president of the student in the Faculty of Education, and I forgot her name her name is Ketai. Here she is.
At 12.10 pm we had lunch on the patio next to the hall. The menu is very simple but so tasty. Fish fry, vegetable omelet, rice with mushrooms, bamboo shoots and petai spicy, coconut milk and bamboo shoots more. I love all the food that was served, I tasted everything and I ate heartily. Either because it is very tasty, or because I was too hungry. ha ha ha


At 2.00 pm we met mentor and talk about what things are necessary in the implementation of the 3rd Batch SEAMEO program in SKRU. Each of the six of us are given the file as a handle for the program is underway. And there has been present mentors, namely Ajarn Aiy and Ajarn Bee for mentoring in Math, Ajarn Toys for mentoring in English and Ajarn Pem for mentoring in Pre-School.

At 4 pm we attended the welcoming ceremony of the international staff at the Language Center. We met some of the staff coming from Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand as well of course. Dr. polpat received us very well and we were given a gift as a memento of the SKRU. After the meeting, Ibu Tatik drove us back to the dorm. (Ibu Tatik is an Indonesian lecturer at the SKRU, she came from Solo but live and school in Yogyakarta and now stay in Songkhla due to work here. Very happy to meet with Bu Tatik here. I hope she is always healthy)
*this is Yaya, She school in Hat Yai but today her school holidays and she joined her father (Ajarn Narong) to attend the Teachers Day Ceremony and of course to meet our sixes. Day with her, this day so fun. See you, Yaya. Oh see how sweet and cute she is. ^.^

Sampeng Market February 11 (Sund ay ) Sampeng Market at China Town Grab taxi and Uber From the hostel, if you have some friends for more economical if you want to travel using the grab or uber rather than train (MRT). If the train rides from lumphini we need 42 THB to caktucak market, then with a grab or uber taxi we need biata around 120 THB for 4 people. Whereas for the Sampeng market need only 60-80 THB for 4 people (I am not recommend to board the train, ribet). If you want to shopping some Thai gifts, I recommend to Caktucak market. There the price of clothes (t-shirt) range between 90-150 THB per sheet. While the key chain 15-20 THB per piece. If you want to buy some clothes, accessories, key chains (not the typical Thailand) it would be nice to go to Sampeng Market. This market is like heaven shopping lovers, all merchandise on the market sampeng relatively cheaper. I bought a leather bag for my mom in the

Chalatat Beach, Songkhla February 5 (Sunday) E vening walk on the Chalatat beach There is no special agenda today, Ajarn Narong cancel our schedule  to go to Hat Yai city because he has classes from morning to afternoon. But we will reorder our vacation schedules in the fourth weekend, last weekend. Ajarn narong is very good, he meet us at Parichat dorm to discuss our schedule to Hat Yai tomorrow. And the decision we take is to go to Hat Yai tomorrow afternoon and we will walk to the beach this evening with Ajarn Narong. The beach which we will go is the Chalatat Beach. We've never been to it, it will surely be fun. Before arriving at the beach, we decided to get off at the roadside market to buy some food to eat while on the beach later and walk to the beach. Songkhla city streets getting crowded afternoon around the beach on Sundays, there's an awful lot of food from snacks to a heavy meal. Super big Crapes

Cat and Rat, Bye Samila Beach! February 10 ( Fri day ) Good morning and Good night Samila Beach Ajarn Toys and Ajarn Narong Early morning, the Mrs. Tatik already busy preparing breakfast for us, while we breakfast she goes to Danar school. It turns out that this woman's career, life in any country it is. But she is a great woman, Mrs. Tatik doing everything by her self without housekeepers as much we encounter in Indonesian. Ha ha ha After dropping off Danar to school, she went to the campus to teach. We also are ready to go back to the dorm, but before departing she didn't forget wrap all foods that could be wrapped and taken to our stock in the dorm. On the way we are afraid of troublesome Mrs. Tatik, so we asked her to drop us at the waterfront because it would like to play for a bit. Mrs. Tatik reluctantly dropped us off.
